I didnt use a calculator or paper. You can too, if you know your times and division tables.
I know that 2.55 cm are in 1 inch, and 12 inches are in a foot. 2.55 is close to 2.5, which is 2 1/2 or 5/2. So you can say that 2/5 inch is about 1 cm. Or, double of what is divided by 5. (I.e. for fractionophobes, 2/5 means multiply by 2 and divide by 5). So that is just concept knowledge. Now let’s use it.
185 ÷ 5 is 37 (100/5 is 20, 80/5 is 16, 5/5 is 1)
37×2 is 74.
74 inches to feet is:
74 ÷ 12 = 6 ft and 2 in.
So I'm kind of driving right now so if someone could please comment what it is and a calculator, I would be greatly appreciative. Im still saying about 6 ft.
1 foot is 12 inches and 1 inch is 2,54 cm then 1 foot is 2,54*12 = 30,48cm
1 ft is 30,48cm
1 cm is 1/30,48 ft
185 cm is 185/30,48 ft

since there is 12 inches to a foot take the decimal part of the answer and multiply by 12
0,0695538057742782152230971128609*12
0,8346456692913385826771653543308 inches
since 1 inch is divided into 16 equal parts, take the decimal part of the inch and multiply by 16
